He left me

Filed under: babbles, lil miss, lil man

[lilmiss] Kuya left me today :( . He had his first day of second grade. Mommy got up earlier than usual and I started to cry b/c she wasn’t there. Daddy said she went to take a shower. Then all of a sudden she was dressed and ready to go. I heard her trying to wake up kuya, he didn’t seem to want to go. And then sooner than I know it, I’m all dressed up in some new clothes. Mommy said it was my “back to school outfit”. She’s silly that Mommy of mine. Kuya had those matchy, matchy clothes that I saw him wear before. We got there super early b/c there were lots and lots of new people and there were yummy bagels to eat. More small people wearing those matchy, matchy outfits that Kuya was wearing. Everyone kept complimenting my new socks and boots. Go Mommy on picking the cute outfit!!! Heh.

We came home and I was lonely. So lonely. I looked all over and waited for him to scare me, but kuya never came out. It was a long time. Then Mommy put me back in the car and we saw all those strange people again, and there he was. Kuya! Yay.

Mommy says he won’t be around a lot during the day. But who will play with me? And who will yell at me? And who will take things from me? Mommy and Daddy aren’t as much fun as Kuya! Maybe I just need to train them?!?!?

Happy Birthday to Kuya!

Filed under: babbles, lil man, ohana

[lil miss] Today is my Kuya’s 7th birthday. Happy Birthday to him! Today we went to eat at Hoot.er’s. YUM! I really like those chicken wings there. We walked around with all the other people that don’t live in Sa.n Fran.cis.co. Man those people are s-l-o-w when they walk! Daddy and kuya shared an ice cream and they only gave me a little bit :( . Then we saw those barking things that lie out in the water. Mommy got kuya and Daddy some funny lookin apples, but we didn’t get to eat those. We stopped at Great Grandma G’s house and Grandma M was there. She’s funny. We came home and we took naps. YAY for naps! Even though Kuya didn’t wanna go mommy made hiim to karate. He was crying worse than me the whole time, but he ended up having a fun time. Grandma M showed up there too. Then Kuya wanted to have white soup for dinner so we went to Stone.stown and ate yummy soup and bread. Then off to eat free ice cream. I hope kuya had a good day b/c I know I did. We been eating good food A LOT.

Specific Oh-shan?

Filed under: babbles, lil miss, lil man

[lil miss] Despite my snifflies, Mommy thought it was okay for me to put my footsies into the numbing waters of the Specific Oh-shan! And did I like it? NO! I loved it :D !!!! At first it didn’t feel good, it was too cold, but then I love the water!!! Daddy calls me a water baby.

Kuya was in the water with his friend while me and the girls stayed at the shore and just let the wee waters hit us. Kuya was waist deep in the water. I don’t think I could have done that, and even if I wanted to… Mommy wouldn’t let me :( . Party pooper. I guess i was having too much fun b/c after awhile I wasn’t even allowed down. She held me the whole time on her hip. Ah poo on her!

I had lots of fun though and that’s all that matters right?

Trippin

[lil man] Mommy dug up one of N’s pacifiers from under the couch and I put it in my mouth! My mom caught me too and told me to wash in. I just wanted to see what it felt like. I also asked my mom if I could taste the baby’s milk. Mommy said, “Homey you’re trippin!!!!”

End of the Year

[mommy] Lil man just finished up his 2nd year of his elementary education. I can’t believe he’s in 2nd grade now. YOWZA!

We had to be at school bright and early on Friday for the awards assembly. Man that was a long and drawn out thing. I knew that J was going to get an award, but after going through what seemed ALL of them, he got the very LAST award “Student of the Year”. Are we proud! Of course we are!

We also got his report card, and it’s just much of the same! No changes, nothing went down. We also got his SAT scores (St.anford Achievement Tests) and he got majority of Level 4s with 2 Level 3s. Level 4 signifies superior performance beyond grade-level mastery. Level 3 represents solid academic performance, indicating that students are prepared for the next grade. He got the level 3s in problem solving for math and environment (which entails sciences and social studies). Oh well just things I need to work on with him.

We went to the bookstore today after dinner to get his one required book of reading for the summer. He’s got a list of things, and we’ve got a handful of books that he got from his very last Sch.olastic book order so we’re good to go! While there I was looking at the workbooks for his incoming grade level.. and he’s one grade ahead. I looked through the math for 2nd grade and he’s done with that. can you believe at nearly 7 years old he can multiply, divide, and do fractions!!! I also looked through the Language arts workbook for his incoming grade level and again he’s beyond the 2nd grade. He’s more into HALFWAY for the 3rd grade! Isn’t that crazy!!!! But then again we DO pay a pretty penny for the school that we sent him to. All worth it though, huh?

New things

Filed under: babbles, lil miss, lil man

[lil miss] Not much has been going on but we got an urging from daddy to post something. Luckily for him 2 things have happened

Yesterday Mommy and Kuya were having these cold red, white, and blue things. The white covering was what I really wanted. It made that crackly sound that I love so much, like paper!!! YAY! Paper! Luckily for me I was sitting in Mommy’s lap and I got a hold of it! Not to mention a taste too :D .

Everytime Mommy took it away to take a bite, I made sure to let her know how displeased I was. Don’t mess with me!!!! I can be a meanie  !

And then today, Mommy went downstairs and left me in my ’saucer with Kuya. He said she’d be back, she had to take out the garbage and do some laundry. Well why did it seem like she was gone forever I couldn’t wait any longer… and I just fell asleep…

I hope this isn’t that new bed she keeps talking about. It’s so uncomfy!!!

My 1st Easter is coming up. I met the Easter Bunny today with Tootles. Man that guy is weird. He doesn’t talk. at. all! It was kinda scary. He also doesn’t blink. And he has this silly smile plastered on his face, and it didn’t change one bit. Mommy thought I wasn’t going to like him, but Tootles went first and he did okay. The bunny didn’t eat him or nothing, so I just say there with him. Not too exciting in my opinion. Kuya keeps saying that he’s like Santa and he’ll bring me some chocolate. Mmm… what’s chocolate? I haven’t had any of that yet :) . Mommy said I can’t have it though, so hopefully the BunBun doesn’t leave me anything I can’t have.

In other news, my Kuya hasn’t been feeling well the past few day. And he’s been home too. Mommy and Daddy say he’s on buhkayshun. I thought those are supposed to be fun? He’s been throwing up and sleeping a lot. Poor Kuya :( . I don’t want him to be sick. I hope he gets better before the BunBun comes!

Lost another one

[lil man] It’s finally OUT!!! After wiggling it for the past few weeks and stuggling with tears with it last Sunday with Daddy, my tooth finally fell out on it’s own. Okay maybe not, but I ate a cookie and nearly swallowed it. It hurt a lot :( . This is tooth #6 lost and according to the this chart it’s tooth F or one of the central incisors.

I put it in an envelope and under my pillow last night and the tooth fairy left me $5. I was expecting more. But she must be getting poor or something b/c Marco lost his tooth yesterday too.

Party Potty time

Filed under: babbles, lil miss, lil man

[lil miss] Apparently everyone in the house is happy for me, Mommy sat me on the potty and sure enough I did some duty doodie :D and even a lil tinkle too. Mommy was there for the whole thing and she sang me some silly songs about pooping and peeing in the potty. It wasn’t so bad, it helped me to get out that stuff from my bum. I’ve been having a hard time with it, it hurts :( . I push and push and push and only a lil bit comes. So Mommy said I had better get used to it, they all do it in this house, and I want to be just like them. So I’ll try. It feels good when they praise me too!

In other news, Mommy and Daddy are very proud of Kuya! He got 1st place on his Science Project. But really Daddy should get the award. Shhh… but don’t tell anyone ;) .

Friday night at Mama’s 12.09.05

Filed under: babbles, lil miss, lil man

(lil miss) Mama does me good :) !!! I saw them all feasting on their dinner and I just sat and watched the whole thing… nobody offered me anything :( . SUCKERS!!! Kuya had something called fried chicken and I just wanted a taste. Just a wee taste, but mommy said she’s not starting me on anything until after New Year’s. New Year’s had better come soon or I’m going to have to use these things that I chew on and grab something myself. HA!!! Wouldn’t that be great, that would surprise everyone.

Anyhow we were sitting around the table “talking story” and Mama got the wonderful idea to give me a chicken bone. Yeah it doesn’t sound appetizing or delicious whatsoever!!!! A bone? WTF? So she stripped the chicken and the cartilage stuffs, man all the good stuff that Kuya was eating and gave me what he would have left on his plate!!!

I held it and just held it. Then Mama helped me. At first Mommy said I made some weird faces, and then I think I realized I was having a TREAT :) . Yeah, basically they’re treating me like a dog. Go figure. I saw the dog there too, Kuma… he was waiting for me to drop my tasty bone, so he could have it!!! I sucked and I gnawed that tasty morsel with my gums!!! YUM! And then…

I dropped it :( . And Mama said no more. But she did say that she would give me another when she watches me on the 19th b/c Mommy is going out :) . WAHOOO, Mama is the greatest she gives me things when Mommy says no. Kuya said she’s the best… I think I’ll have to agree.

(lil man) I lost another tooth!!!! Woo hoo!!!

I’ve been wiggling it and wiggling it and it’s been bothering me. I asked Mommy to pull it out but she said to let it come out on it’s own. I asked Mama to do it and she said the same. I asked Papa and he told me to get some string. No one would get me any string :( . And so I asked Uncle Rich and he told me he’d punch it out. So it looks like I had to just wait for it to come out on it’s own.

Mama offered us some oranges, while my sister was having her chicken bone. I remember those days. I did the same thing and I loved chicken bone time :) . For some odd reason, they’re tasty and they help ease the teething pain, but you won’t ever catch me chewing those things up anymore, the meat is the best thing!!! Oh yeah, what was I saying? Oh yeah… so Mommy cut up some oranges and I had some and there stuck in the orange rind was my tooth!!! YAY :D !!!!

That tooth fairy might as well leave me her debit card b/c I’m cashing in!!! I’ve got another loose tooth, one of the top ones. Mommy says I’ll look super funny though if I lose any more teeth and no more come back.

#3 Tooth

So tooth #3 is out. Strangely it’s another bottom tooth. His 2 front teeth are still there…. remember I lost mine when I was 2ish from falling off the couch??? Or maybe you didn’t know that. Anyhow he has been wiggling and jiggling that thing with his tongue for quite some time and it fell out at school during his PE class. His teacher sent the tooth home securely in a plastic bag today :) .

So it’s going under his pillow awaiting a visit from the tooth fairy. I wonder how much this time???

We’re off to see the wizard…

Lil man is watching “The Wizard of Oz” right now. He said he’s seen it before, I believe only in snippets though.

The beginning part is in a sepia tone and he says to me, “Mommy, this is from the old times Is the whole thing like this? B/c if it is, I don’t want to watch it.”

Ahahaha… and I thought he’d seen it before. I reassured him that it wasn’t and that the color would come in as soon as she got to Oz.

I remember watching this every year on Thanksgiving. I would sneak into my grandparents’ room and turn on the telly and watch it on channel 5 in the dark. The monkey part at the bad witches castle ALWAYS scared me. I think it still does.

Were watching it on TBS, complete with commercials. Nevermind that we own it on DVD ;) .

5 hours!!!!

Filed under: lil miss, lil man

First time ever. A 5 hour stretch of sleep!!!!

I tried to “ignore” again but she wasn’t having it. She even went for her hands and pacified herself for a lil bit but still wasn’t having it and let me know it. So I gathered her up. Changed her diaper. Gave her some kisses and let her have it :) .

We have another roommate in the bed at the moment. I’m sure big daddy will be moving him when he gets home though. He’s sleeping perpendicular at the moment at the foot of the bed. With his strange sleeping habits I’m afraid a leg might come this way. And DAMN he’s heavy. I could barely move him.

Shake yo’ thang

Lil man danced and sweated through his first day of class. Learned the “basics” and even performed on his own in front of the class. His lil friend wasn’t there today, which I thought would make it harder. NOPE. He jumped in there like a pro :D and although he was offbeat on a few steps, he got the jist of it. The kumu was proud of him too.

Now it’s a matter of practicing without the music ;) .

Report card period time

I can’t believe the first term has ended already. We received lil man’s report card in the “mailbox” at school yesterday and got an idea of how he’s doing in school. We already knew that it would be nothing but good marks on there :D . All E’s and S+’s. Which in turn are A’s and B’s.

We had the parent teacher conference with his teacher today too and she said that J is enthusiastic about school and is an all around good child :) . He’s doing exceptionally well in school and we shouldn’t worry about him. She also asked if he reads at home, more than what is expected of him. Why YES he does :D . And she said she could tell. J picks up things around the house and just reads them randomly.

Nothing but proud parents over here!!!!

Mini update

Filed under: keiki, lil miss, lil man, ohana

I think I’m finally getting tired, having a baby around, and NOT wanting to be on the computer is settling in. I didn’t mean I’m tired of having her around, I’m just feeling a bit rundown.

Lil man’s first week back is what is sparking this, I’m sure. I’ve had the job of taking him in the mornings this week b/c S has had to fill in for someone in the mornings. I also have to make sure homework gets done afterschool in addition to making sure he’s bathed and fed and in bed by 8:30PM. And then there’s karate that he has to get to 2x a week. And with the feeding thing… sometimes I even cook. HA.

I’ve been getting up at 6:30AM b/c I’m just not the type to roll out of bed, brush my teeth, and wash my face and out the door. I’m just not. I need my morning shower to wake me and get me going!!! So if the lil miss doesn’t need to be fed and I can sneak out of the bed without her noticing then I go about my morning business in addition to getting the lil man out of bed before 7AM. Then there’s the arm pulling of making him eat and finish his breakfast before 7:30AM so that by that time he can brush his teeth and get dressed. And hopefully all this gets done by 7:50AM so that we’re out of the house by 7:55AM.

Yeah I’m a stickler like that, but that’s MY routine. Oh yeah and somewhere in there I have to fit in washing up the lil miss, changing her AND feeding her.

No wonder I’m tired. LMAO.

Next week and the ones after, I’m hoping that S can pick up some morning routines. I do like bringing J to school, but doing it 5x a week is really taking it’s toll on me. So I’m thinking 3x, and most especially Mondays b/c that’s when announcements are made.

Lil man is of course loving school. Which is a good thing :) !!! His new teacher is really strict compared to last year’s. She has a tally system, red tallies are bad and blues are good. At the end of the week, if you attain 5 good tallies you get something out of the treasure box. Lil man has got NO tallies… and his response, “It’s okay mommy, I’m just a regular kid.” Blue tallies would be nice, but no tallies is better than red ones. Heh.

Lil miss is definitely getting more interactive. She’s smiling and recognizing voices and faces. When the lil man comes in in the mornings and talks, she looks for him. We’ve been spending QT time with my ‘rents a lot too and she’s been cooing and bonding with my mom, which is just toooooo cute.

1st day of 1st grade

Since he finished Kindergarten all he could think about was the 1st day of 1st grade. Well that day finally came and went. What did he have to say about today?

“Mommy… I had a WONDERFUL 1st day of 1st grade!!!!

What a cornball!!! He’s too funny.

He went to bed earlier last night and wanted it to be Monday the 29th already. It couldn’t come too soon for him!!! Of course I had a hell of a time waking him up at 6:45AM but told him he could catch the last 10 minutes of Tee.n Tita.ns and he shot out of bed. He lagged on eating his breakfast and I had to usher him into the bathroom to wash up and then get dressed. He took a shower last night ;) . We finally got out of the house at 7:55AM and we were well on our way. We got to even listen to daddy mix on the radio on our drive.

We pulled up to school and surprisingly hardly anyone was there. It was already 8:10AM. I figured more people would be there early for the 1st day of school. He was the 1st 1st grader there. We took a peek at his new classroom and just hung around til more familiar faces started to show up. He went off with his friends and then it was assembly time.

You could just see the excitement in his face. All the boys were showing off their new backpacks and the characters on them. Lil man didn’t get one of those this year, a sign that maybe he’s growing up??? He and S are into camouflage right now and he got a backpack and lunch box matching combo thinger from my mom in blue camouflage.

The principal introduced all the new kids and then they were ushered off to their classrooms. One of the twins in his class had a meltdown and started to cry. Only 1 out of 13 kids, not bad!!!

I peeked in one last time b/c I wanted to see where his seat was and then I made my way out. knowing full well that he could handle it.

*sigh* Sooner than I know it he’ll be graduating high school and off to college ;)

Birthday gifts

“BB’s” 6th Birthday is creeping up on us. Thankfully me and the mister did a Toys R Us run and the gifts are all sitting downstairs in a big box hiding: some Star Wars M&M’s, Justice League toys, Human Torch dress up set, Darth Vader helmet thinger, and some other things that I can’t think of.

My ‘rents have the clothes and school bits covered as gifts. COOL.

He’ll be in camp on Wednesday, his birthday, so we’re bringing a cake and maybe some ice cream too to celebrate. YAY!!!

It’s all still so surreal

Filed under: babbles, lil miss, lil man

1 week now and she’s been here and it still feels so surreal that she’s actually here. I find myself staring at her all the time. Looking at all her little nooks and crannies. I feel so silly. but I enjoy brushing her hair while she’s feeding. She’s just so tiny and I love all the lil sounds that she makes, except for her cries. I just can’t believe she’s here.

I think lil man is having a hard time NOW. He’s getting a little jealous. He told me that he wanted to lie on me today like she does. Uhm, hello… when was the last time you did that homey? He’s HUGE and heavy to boot. I had to tell him no. I felt bad and I know he was hurt by it. I offered a hug but I don’t think it appeased him much. Then he said that he wished he was the younger sibling. *sigh*

The not so little man

It was strange to see him so out of character, refusing food and not wanting to eat. Well the foodie monster is DEFINITELY back. Trying to stray away from the fast food though, still blaming that McD’s hamburger he had before we went up the GrapeVine on our way home. Yesterday, he wanted Sizzler’s for lunch. No problem, I needed some ruffage in my system. He ordered the kid’s shrimp & fries, not the best… I know, but he wanted it. Why though did he eat 2 bowls of the clam chowder from my AYCE salad bar meal? In addition to a chicken wing, 2 onion rings, and his meal. And lest we forget the ice cream cone on the way out.

For dinner yesterday, he had a bagel dog and a small bag of Doritos. Later he asked for dessert. I told him he already had dessert for the day. HA.

Today, I had a craving for dim sum. He obliged my craving but ended up smelling the Pilipino BBQ from a few doors down and pleaded with me to get him some. So I obliged him. He ate two sticks with rice and some shanghai. This was about 1ish. Why, 2 hours later, was he asking to eat dinner? I told him NO, b/c he had class today and I didn’t want him to cramp up or get sick.

For dinner, I was supposed to make him Hamburger Helper, again at his request. I didn’t do it b/c I wasn’t up to it. Instead he ate some bread with cream cheese (x3), and some dim sum. For dessert, he had some sticky rice cake.

I’m telling you the eating monster is back.

One of the mother’s at Karate had commented that J is getting taller and slimmer. I kinda noticed it myself. But then there are times where his face just looks chubs.

He goes to day camp starting next week and will be there for the month of July. It’ll keep him busy and out of the kitchen. He’ll be getting a lot of exercise and stimulation which is a good thing. But then he’s home for 3 weeks in August until school starts.
